This training takes place in Calgary, Alberta.
Vehicle Requirements
Learners must supply their own vehicle for the in-vehicle training component—typically, their company vehicle. Training in the vehicle they drive for work makes the experience practical and directly applicable to their daily driving responsibilities.As training takes place on a gravel track, an SUV or truck is recommended.

- Adverse road conditions, including gravel roads, lease roads, snow, and ice
- Driving habits, attitudes, and behaviours
- Hazard identification
- Collision avoidance
- Ditch entry and recovery
- Emergency braking with ABS
- Fatigue management
- Journey management
- Deer and animal collision prevention
- Safe driving techniques
In-Vehicle Driving Training — 4 Hours
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- General driving evaluation
- Commentary driving and hazard identification
- Gravel-road skill building
- Braking and turning techniques
- Brake-and-avoid manoeuvres
- Ditch entry and recovery
- Skid control
- Collision avoidance
- Rear-crash avoidance
- Emergency braking, including progressive squeeze braking and anti-lock braking
- High-speed collision avoidance
- Slalom driving
