Vehicle Requirements

Learners must supply their own vehicle for the in-vehicle training component—typically, their company vehicle. Training in the vehicle they drive for work makes the experience practical and directly applicable to their daily driving responsibilities.As training takes place on a gravel track, an SUV or truck is recommended.

In-Vehicle Driving Training — 4 Hours

  • Pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • General driving evaluation
  • Commentary driving and hazard identification
  • Gravel-road skill building
  • Braking and turning techniques
  • Brake-and-avoid manoeuvres
  • Ditch entry and recovery
  • Skid control
  • Collision avoidance
